The Forge · By Appointment

Let's talk iron, fire, and the piece you've been imagining.

Tell us what you have in mind — a commissioned blade, a custom gate, a hand-forged bracket for a restoration project — and we'll get back to you within two business days with a real human response, not an autoresponder.

Consultation Request

Tell us about your piece.

Every commission starts with a conversation. Share a few details below and I'll personally read your message and reach out within 48 hours. No bots, no templates — just an honest reply from the shop floor.

Project Brief

Fields marked * are required.

We respond within two business days. Your message goes only to Maren and Eli at the forge.

What happens next

Within 48 hours you'll get a reply from one of us with follow-up questions, an honest sense of timeline, and whether we're the right shop for your piece. We turn down about a third of briefs — politely, with referrals when we can.

Attachments & drawings

Got sketches, CAD files, or reference photos? Mention them in the message and we'll set up a shared folder for the project. We work happily from napkin drawings.

Privacy

We don't add you to mailing lists, sell your details, or hand briefs to anyone. Your project stays between us, the anvil, and whoever you've invited to collaborate.

Reach the Workshop

Four ways to find us.

The forge sits in a converted rail works on the east side of the river. We like visitors, but please call ahead — the shop gets loud, hot, and genuinely dangerous when the hammer is moving.

Commission Inquiries

How a commission moves through the shop.

Every piece is different, but the path is roughly the same. Knowing what to expect helps you decide whether the timing and the budget are right before we ever strike the first spark.

1

Brief & fit

You send the form above. We read it, ask follow-ups by email, and decide whether we're the right shop. If not, we'll point you somewhere we trust.

2

Quote & timeline

Once scope is clear, we send a written quote covering materials, labor, finish, and a realistic delivery window. No deposits until both sides sign.

3

Drawings & samples

For architectural and sculptural work we share shop drawings or a small sample. You'll see the piece before it exists in full size.

4

Forge, finish, deliver

We send progress photos at major stages. Pickup is at the workshop; shipping is crated and insured for larger architectural pieces.
